Parenting Courses

We offer parenting course from toddler tantrums to the rollercoaster of dealing with teenagers. We use the Triple P parenting course for teenagers which is an approved parenting course used commonly within the NHS. We also have parenting courses to empower parents/carers who care for children with neurodevelopmental conditions. We use knowledge from occupational therapist, Speech and language therapist and mental health professionals.

Parenting courses available with Psychological Wellbeing

There are two different types of parenting courses on offer. Each one can be beneficial to both parents and their children.

Course One - Parent-lead CBT:

This course is for children who may struggle by themselves in a therapy session. This may be due to age or that they may not always understand their emotions. By involving the parent in the CBT process we are able to bring a degree of familiarity and comfort to the child, whilst enabling the parent to use guided CBT skills to help overcome their child’s fears and worries. The course begins with an initial assessment and then, if suitable and appropriate, 6 therapy sessions working with the parent(s), providing them with skills and tools to help their child undertake CBT therapy.

The Triple P parenting course is a structured 10-week program specialising in challenging children’s behaviours. The program offers parent(s) support in boundary setting, positive reinforcement and relationship building with their child. The Triple P program is a parenting intervention with the main goals of increasing the knowledge, skills, and confidence of parents and reducing the prevalence of mental health, emotional, and behavioural problems in children and adolescents.
